Someday-someway-somehow

Special thanks to © Janet Webb for the photo prompt and Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for conducting the Friday Fictioneers challenge.  Here’s my entry:

She stood at the window, sullen, stiff and unable to absorb or emit an ounce of emotion.  Her heart was like a brick sponge, unable to absorb a single ray of light for being so thoroughly weighed down by its density of despair.

She yearned for what once was, hated what had become, and feared what was yet to be.  She felt trapped, as if living in a glass case of emotion, unable to express herself for fear of shattering the feeble glass walls that protected her.

Someday-someway-somehow, she must break free from these unbearable confines to reclaim her lover.
