Try Again

Photo Prompt Courtesy of Claire Sheldon – thank you!

Here is my submission for the 100 Word Friday Fictioneers 100 words or less challenge:

She wildly stabbed the keyboard, frantically typing all the characteristics she required of her future mate.

There, that should do.  Print.  Staple.  Feed into the copier. And wait.

And wait…

Nothing.  It didn’t work!

Remove staple.  Add neatly to collection.  Try again.

Wildly flail at the keyboard, repeating every trait typed above, adding a few more.  Vibrate excitedly in chair as it prints.  Staple.  Give a good luck kiss.  Feed into copier.

And wait.

Still nothing.  Nothing!  She has been tethered to the computer for days!

It will work the next time.

Pull staple, add to pile.

Type again.

Genre: Hysterical Fiction

Word Count: 99

  1. Sounds like a bit like a pup chasing her tail. Good one. Welcome to Friday Fictioneers. Incidentally, when I post a genre on my story, it’s telling my audience what genre my story is…not a directive. I will say the tag does work for your story. 😉 A long time ago I had a reason for tagging my story with a genre…it became a habit. Again, welcome.
